Hospital Central

I can't sleep.
I hate it when I can't sleep, even though I'm dead tired. Last night I only slept like three hours and I wanted to go to sleep early tonight, but it seems like my brain is not ready to shut down just yet. So what the hell, I'll just give you something to do if you're in the same situation and can't sleep either!

I was thinking about Spanish series just now, when talking about Los hombres de Paco. I've seen quite a few (I won't forget to mention them later on, don't worry) and beside the love story of Pepa and Silvia (Los hombres de Paco), the other one (or actually two) that I loved the most was in Hospital Central.
Hospital Central is one of those medical series, which has until now 18 seasons and is still going on. For those of you who love medical series, like me, this one won't disappoint you. But for all of you others who don't, it won't disappoint you either.
The love story starts with the doctor Macarena Fernandez (Patricia Vico), who starts working at the hospital where Esther Garcia (Fatima Baeze) is already head nurse. As usual, Maca is the lesbian one who seduces the straight Esther, until they finally start a relationship. There's the coming out of Esther, several crisis in their relationship, a couple of pregnancies, but most importantly the affair with Vero. The psychiatrist Veronica Sole (Carolina Cerezuela) comes in and starts an affair with Maca, for which Maca is then ready to leave Esther (but then ends up leaving her again and taking Esther back). As much as I hate Vero breaking up the couple Maca-Esther, because of their incredible connection, the hotness of Maca-Vero is just indescribable.
So you see, you have the mix of all you need. There are definitely real and true love stories and there are great kisses and love scenes - All this mixed with the exitement of a hospital and the Spanish lifestyle and you're good to go.

Once again, the series is in Spanish however and we have some very nice YouTubers to thank for their time invested for the subtitles. You'll find good compilations, mostly by entering "Maca-Vero" or "Maca-Esther" rather than just Hospital Central and some of them have English or French subtitles. Another shout-out while I'm at it, the eighteenth season is currently on, and even though Vero is out of the picture, the couple is facing a new kind of drama, so catch up with what you've missed and don't let yourself miss this series!!
For all you sleepy-heads, good night, and for you night-people, enjoy the magic of Maca's relationships!!

Los Hombres De Paco

So the way I wanted to do this blog, was to publish one new post each week or even each day when I can. But as usual in my life, things don't go according to plan.
This time, I failed because as soon as I logged into YouTube, my favorite subscription, which had been silent for a couple of months had published a couple of videos, and I had to talk to you people ASAP!!

The series I'm talking about now, is a Spanish series called "Los hombres de Paco". It's one of those police / crime investigation series that has been going on for years. I honestly haven't watched the entire series, because the plot only got interesting when two important characters reunited. Pepa Miranda (Laura Sanchez), lesbian police agent, and Silvia (Marian Aguilera) straight forensics investigator, meet many years after their public kiss at a family party, which is however not shown in the series.
As soon as they meet, an old flame starts and they have amazing chemistry. The series shows their love story, incredibly realistic and fascinating, and brings us to their wedding, where (as always for gay couples in series), there's no happy ending.
There are a lot of reasons why I love this series:
First of, Laura Sanchez is a whole new level of hot and the couple is really incredibly looking.
Secondly, the relationship seems really believable and convincing and their story is so captivating that I shed tears at times.
And thirdly, the Spanish TV station "Arena 3" that produces Los hombres de Paco, is for once not scared to show some public kisses and even more. Because let's face it, there's nothing more horrible than seeing too much of the straight couples' sex lives and absolutely nothing of the gay couples'. Even though they show much less than the L word (the series that shows probably more explicit sex scenes than any other I know), this series is quite satisfying concerning its content on action.

So why was I in such a rush to talk to you? Because it's finally here again! The new season is out! And now we have Pepa who's dealing with the death of the person she loved the most and it's truly heartbreaking.
But for all of you who aren't this far yet, I've got some good news. Our YouTube community loved this series and there are a lot of good channels you can subscribe to (I recommend "Pepsienglish"), that not only cut the series to the scenes relevant to the couple (for those of you who are not really interested in cops and crime investigation) but also give you English subtitles (the language is still Spanish though... but in my opinion, even if you don't understand it, Spanish always sounds hot!).
This is probably the couple that had me crying the most and the compilations you find on YouTube really give you the essential without having to watch all nine seasons of "los hombres de paco".
Go on then, open YouTube and get some food, this is going to be a long night for you.
And with these last words, I'll leave you for now.

The L word

Let me start by the series that literally changed my life. The L word.
The series started in 2004 and brought us six seasons full off everything and anything.
It's difficult to actually summarize what happens. But I can safely say that the series shows us the lives and views of a group of very close friends, containing a range of very different characters and people.

There's Shane McCutcheon (Kate Moening), the most unobtainble but certainly fascinating character, who goes through different kinds of relationships. There's the couple "Tibette" -Tina Kennard (Laurel Holloman) and Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals)- going through periods as a happy couple, as almost enemies and even as lovers. We see them in their conception of a child, in the adoption of another child, in a relationship with a man and a deaf woman (Marlee Matlin as Jodi Lerner).
There's the famous tennis player Dana Fairbanks (Erin Daniels), who shows us the process of coming out, but gets breast cancer and eventually dies.
There's the funny and kind Alice Pieszecki (Leisha Hailey), who brings us the "Chart" and who's involved with different lifestyles and people, including the military black woman Tasha Williams (Rose Rollins) and her friend Papi Torres (Janina Gavankar).
There's the writer Jenny Schecter (Mia Kirschner), who nobody truly understands what she goes through, but who's life is plot-wise very important for the series end.
There's Kit Porter (Pam Grier), a straight but gay-community-loving woman who gives us the location of the series.
There's Helena Peabody (Rachel Shelley), who brings us into casinos, jails, bankruptcies and many more adventures.
There's Moira Sweeney (Daniela Sea), who turns to Max Sweeney, who then gets pregnat as a gay trans man.

You see people, the L word gives us insight to anything and everything. I personally loved it - it started presumably with a low budget because the quality in the first season was rather poor, but the latest seasons include amazing music and great sets and costumes. Each episode brings us 50 minutes of pure quality entertainment and connects the entire community with "OurChart", the chart connecting all relationships and affairs between the members of the community.

The actresses and actors do amazing jobs, some of them are actually gay, others only pretend, and Ilene Chaiken (the producer), is actually thinking about giving out a movie in conclusion to the series.
I highly recommend it. I truly do.
For all informations, there are great Youtube providers as well as the homepage "Showtime".

Introduction

Most people start their blogs with an introduction and tell you who they are. Well, I'm not most people and I don't like to do things just because they need to be done. So I won't tell you a lot about me. In fact, I'll only tell you one thing about me:
I'm bisexual.

Consider yourself lucky that I've told you that, because coming out for me was a very long (and still lasting) progress, so that I spent years in the most nauseating closet you could possibly imagine. You know how you think you can talk about these things with other people, but then you really can't? That's pretty much how I felt for a very long time. And maybe centuries ago people just suffered silently, but in our times, that just doesn't fly. When you have a problem without any apparent solution, the only way out is the internet. Yes, the internet. It gives you viruses, asks you for credit card numbers, shows you pictures you don't want to see, but most importantly it gives you information about anything. And when I finally realized that what I thought was me just being weird was actually the gay half of me that had been opressed for years coming out, and I didn't know who to turn to, I turned to the internet. And this is where you come in.

I'm writing for all the people who need somewhere to turn to, who need to see things that don't happen in their world but they wish they did, who wish o see worlds they want to be parts of. Because that's what you do when you're not sure what your life is supposed to look like, you look at other's life and choose your path. That person, in a similar situation as you, was me. And to look at other people's lives, I started watching LGBT movies and series from all over the world and with time understood myself and the world better. By now, I have a quite large collection of series and movies and I'm here to tell you which ones are worth watching, which ones influence your life and from which ones you can learn the most. I know the pain and confusion you're going through, believe me, I really do. But this helps.
If you're part of the already out and proud LGBT community, I'm not only happy for you, I envy you! So leave me comments on movies and series you watch and let me know what moves and influences you, and I will make sure to watch it, rate it and leave good sources and opinions about it for those who haven't seen it.

This is it for now.
I'm bilarious and this blog is about what influences and entertains our community.
